Opus 40: YouthScape

Opus 40: YouthScape

Opus 40: Youthscape is an interactive site-specific performance created in collaboration with The Vanaver Caravan Dance Company’s artists and faculty: Brian Lawton (SWING!, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Marina Lopez (Art.Coop, Remember the Future Podcast), Penelope Wendladt (STOMP, ), Anna Librada Georges (MoveMe, Hudson Valley Flamenco Festival), Ariana Brisport (Company Dancer), Rafal Pustelny (Company Dancer), Sandy Silva (Reverence Choreographer), Amber Wirthmann (Company Dancer), Miranda Way (Executive Director, TVC), and Livia Vanaver (Artistic Director/Founder, TVC).

This student-led performance draws the audience into the vibrant experience of SummerDance with The Vanaver Caravan. Audience and performers alike move through the stones of Opus 40, listening to a soundscape of percussive rhythms and youth voices in action as they navigate the hardships and wonders of the world today. Questions about identity, climate, and freedom of expression will echo through the sculpture park as the dancers take to the stones to perform vignettes of site specific choreography in a myriad of dance styles.

Tickets: $20 general admission / $15 student

If rain, this performance will move to MaMA, Stone Ridge (map)

Rain decision will be posted here by noon on Friday.
