WORKSHOP INFORMATION

CaravanKids Week Workshops are two weeks bursting with dance, music, creativity, and adventure. Each day we go to a new country, meeting with different teachers from around the world. Little ones will receive secret missions from fairies 🧚 and a special passport journal 📖.

Throughout the day, students take three dance classes:

• 🎭 Creative Movement – Turning into animals, playing dance games, and exploring their full range of movement and boundless creative expression.

• 🌍 World Dance & Music – Learning dances and songs from all around the world.

• 📖 Folk Songs & Stories – Listening to folktales from different countries.

📅 DATES & LOCATION

Week 1: July 7-11, 2025
Week 2: July 14-18, 2025

📍 Location: MaMA (Marbletown Multi-Arts), 3588 Main St, Stone Ridge, NY 12484

🚗 Parking & Drop-off Notes:

• Park in the back lot by the kiva and drive SLOWLY 🚸.

• If the parking lot is full, you may park at the Marbletown Community Center next door & walk over 🚶‍♂️.

⏰ SCHEDULE NOTES

• 🕘 Monday - Thursday: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM (Please be on time).

• 🕒 Staff onsite: 9 AM - 3 PM. If you need early drop-off (9-9:30 AM) or late pickup (2:30-3 PM), email 📩 vcoffice@vanavercaravan.org, subject: ATTN: Juliet.

• 📆 Friday Half-Day Schedule:

  • 9:30 AM: Drop-off

  • 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Dance Share Performance 🎭 (Family & friends invited!)

  • 12:30 PM: Parent/Caregiver Pickup

  • 🧺 12:30-1:30 PM: Community Picnic (Optional) – Bring a picnic and enjoy the afternoon with other CK families!

🚗 JOIN THE CARAVAN CARPOOL

Once registered, parents & caregivers interested in carpooling to/from Stone Ridge may sign up for the Caravan Carpool. Connect with other families to save gas & time ⛽⏳ while helping the planet! 🌍♻️

🎂 AGE POLICY

• For children aged 4 and up. Rare exceptions may be made if a child is almost 4 and can manage a full 5-hour day with a group of 30+ older children.

• Children must be fully potty trained 🚽, able to put on/take off their shoes 👟, and comfortable being away from parents.

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

• 💧 Refillable water bottle(s)

• 🥪 Two snacks & lunch (🚫 NO NUTS – allergies present)

• 🧼 Hand sanitizer/wipes

• ☀️ Sunscreen & bug spray

• 🥾 Close-toed, easy-on/easy-off shoes for nature hikes

• ☔ Rain gear (if applicable)

• 👕 Extra set of clothes for accidents/messy paint projects

• 🎨 Smock/oversized tee for messy paint projects

• 🎁 A special daily show & tell item from home

• 👗 Any special dance wear or costume-trunk wear your child wants to bring

• 🩰 Breathable, stretchy dance clothes (🚫 No jeans)

• (Optional) 🥿 Ballet slippers or jazz shoes

🏥 HEALTH & SAFETY

• 🩹 First Aid kit available & a dedicated staff ensuring a safe, supportive environment.

• 🐜 Daily tick checks recommended! If we find a tick, we will contact you to decide the next steps.

• 🚨 If your child is sick, please do not send them to the workshop. Families will be called to pick up any child displaying signs of illness.

• 📞 Absence, early pickup, or emergency changes? Contact the workshop directors ASAP.

📜 DANCE INSTITUTE POLICY GUIDELINES

• ✅ Commitment: By enrolling, you commit to attending and participating fully in all scheduled workshops.

• 💙 Respect: Treat the space, faculty, and fellow students with care and kindness.

• 🚪 Designated Areas Only: Parents & students must remain in approved spaces such as dance studios, bathrooms, and the firepit area.

• 🚫 No Tampering: Equipment and property must not be removed or altered.

• 🚭 Substance-Free Zone: No drugs, tobacco, or alcohol are allowed on premises. Violators may face suspension.

These policies help us create a safe, fun, and welcoming experience for all dancers! 💃🕺

💰 WAITLIST & REFUNDS

• 💸 Full refund (minus a $30 admin fee) until April 5

• 💰 50% refund until May 15

• 🚫 No refunds after May 15

• 💖 A portion of non-refundable tuition balances will be donated to the Betsey Bergman Memorial Scholarship Fund.

📢 If you may need to withdraw, please let us know ASAP so we can offer the spot to another family!
